Back in latter 50′s the observant experts who wrote our teaching manuals discovered that tiny youngsters naturally adopted the snowplough position. Before I am getting kebabbed on a ski pole let me say that when the manuals were being written the snowplough was a jolly smart idea.
Well, why do we continue to teach it to beginners? Goodness knows. My idea will actually not be a popular one among ski colleges. Though a fund for faculty construction was added to the mix, the total appropriations to public faculties still declined at 42% in 2007. After all, the more you have a pupil doing something that extends the teaching process, the longer he’s going to keep you in business.
